Nosco Invests in Automation for Labels with HP Indigo V12 Digital Press

Nosco recently announced a revolutionary step in the future of its digital label production through the addition of an HP Indigo V12 digital press. This strategic investment extends the company’s leadership position in the digital print space, advancing its capabilities to align with the requirements of leading brands across various regulated industries. The new V12 press, which is slated for delivery in April and startup in June, will further add to digital label production at Nosco’s Wisconsin-based Packaging Innovation Center. The machine joins eight other HP Indigo devices running labels, cartons and flexible packaging for Nosco customers.

The culmination of years of development, the V12 is truly groundbreaking in speed and quality. For Nosco, it means we can now produce digital quality labels at speed competing with flexographic equipment. “This is our fastest digital label press yet,” said Craig Curran, Nosco President. “We are proud to be one of the early adopters of the V12. This is another leap forward on our journey with HP Indigo digital printing.”

Combining exceptional print quality with unparalleled speed, the HP Indigo V12 digital press operates at an impressive 400 feet per minute with resolution that is offset or photo like in quality. The V12 does this while handling print runs of six or twelve colors with four color process, white, or extended gamut.

“Production speeds on the new V12 are two to four times faster than existing digital label presses,” said Curran. “Its rapid production capabilities rival that of our traditional flexographic processes, making it an ideal solution for medium to large print runs.”

In addition to the impressive print quality and increased speed, the V12 press will allow Nosco to print on a variety of base label materials, offer larger serialization runs, and help meet sustainability goals through the use of HP Indigo inks, less set-up materials and lower energy consumption. These benefits, paired with Nosco’s previously installed finishing and vision inspection equipment, will offer the highest quality product in the market.

“Through the addition of the V12 press to our existing fleet, we will be well-positioned to meet growing customer requirements. The press can efficiently handle 90% of all label jobs in our healthcare space,” said Curran. “We’re excited to strengthen our current digital offering by producing digitally printed labels to help our clients save lives, promote health and encourage happiness.”
