Vac-Con Hosts Advanced Manufacturing Tour

As one of the largest manufacturing facilities in Clay County, Vac-Con understands the importance of engaging with local schools to build up the next generation of the workforce. Several employees in leadership positions are active with local trade school, high school, and career development programs across the Northeast, focusing on driving talent to Vac-Con.

A great example of one of these partnerships is the ongoing relationship between Vac-Con and the Palatka High School Advanced Manufacturing Program (AM Program). Just this month, Vac-Con welcomed students from the AM Program on a tour of the facility. Leaders from the Operations and Production teams guided students through each phase of the engineering, build, and final testing process. In addition, employee-owners that have found success and ownership at Vac-Con presented their testimonials to the students, encouraging them to find their path in manufacturing.

The team at Vac-Con is already looking forward to 2022, where plans are in place to continue these types of partnerships and expand them to more organizations. In a post-COVID world, it is critical to remain focused and involved with area schools to continue filling the workforce pipeline.
