Wildeck Delivers Collected Donations to Local Fire Department

The results from Wildeck’s “Soles for Souls” shoe drive are in!

From July 12th to August 18th, Wildeck employee-owners teamed up with The City of Waukesha Fire Department, along with Waukesha Professional Firefighters Local 407, to hold a shoe drive at its Waukesha, WI headquarters. Throughout the duration of the event, named “Soles for Souls,” new or gently used adult men’s and women’s shoes were collected by employees that will be distributed to local veterans on September 11th.

On August 20th, Wildeck personnel delivered 11 full boxes of shoe donations to the nearby Waukesha Fire Department Station #2. After arriving, they were greeted by the local firefighters, who assisted in unloading the boxes of collected goods.

“It was a very rewarding experience to meet with the local fire department. You could tell that they were happy to see the Wildeck’s contributions, likely because they will be seeing first-hand the impact these donations will have.” stated Mike Troka, Vice President of Marketing at Wildeck.

This year is the 20th anniversary of the attack on the World Trade Center, and the campaign’s goal is to collect at least 351 pairs of shoes in remembrance of those that lost their lives that day. With Wildeck's contributions (totaling close to 100 pairs of shoes), the event has exceeded that goal.

Donations will go to the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King (in Wisconsin Rapids). Many veterans at King have served our country after their military service as firefighters/EMS.

Thank you City of Waukesha for presenting us with this great opportunity to give back to the community!
